Our Governing Body
As a Free School set up under the Government’s Free School’s programme, our governance arrangements are the same as an Academy and are approved directly by the Department for Education.
Our governors are:
Dr Margaret Mountford
Chair of Governors, appointed by members. Member of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee, member of the Curriculum and Assessment Committee, and member of the Human Resources & Remuneration Committee.
Governor responsibility: safeguarding
Margaret was previously the Chair of Governors at St Marylebone Girls’ School for many years, and is currently the chair at the St Marylebone Bridge School.
Ms Jane Wilson
Co-opted Governor. Member of the Human Resources & Remuneration Committee.
Jane is the Chief Operating Officer of an energy technology business.
Mr Howard Goldsobel
Member of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee and member of the Curriculum and Assessment Committee.
Howard is a partner in a City based firm of solicitors specialising in corporate and commercial work. In his spare time he is a trustee of and honorary legal adviser to an educational charity and was for many years a foundation governor of a voluntary aided JMI.
Mr Ifeanyi Uyanneh
Co-opted Governor. Chair of the Human Resources & Remuneration Committee.
Ifeanyi is a solicitor and accountant and works in real estate and investment management in the City. He joined us early in 2021.
Mr Peter Jordan
Co-opted Governor. Member of the Curriculum and Assessment Committee and member of the Human Resources & Remuneration Committee.
Peter was previously a Senior Deputy Headteacher at The St Marylebone CE School.
Mr Andrew Barnes
Chair of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.
Governor responsibility: audit and finance
Andrew is a Chartered Accountant and was formerly the Chief Financial Officer for Argent Foods Limited. He is a Trustee of Southampton University Students Union.
Mr Troy Sharpe
Chair of the Curriculum and Assessment Committee.
Troy has working in education over the 25 years and has recently begun working at Elastik, an Ed Tech company focused on technologies in assessment and digital pedagogy. Prior to this he was a Headteacher in a number of London primary schools and his expertise lies in strategic school improvement and leadership development.
Mr Todd Taylor
Todd moved to London in 2006 as a US and French lawyer to work as EU General Counsel for a US company. He currently works as the Vice President for Europe, Middle East, Africa for VIAVI Solutions and serves as Managing Director of VIAVI Solutions UK. In these roles, he has developed strong leadership and management skills. He also possesses the financial acumen to help the school with both its financial and educational performance whilst providing a parental view of the school.
