Celebrating European Day of Languages

To celebrate the European Day of Languages (marked on 26 September 2020), Ms Bell and the MFL faculty have organised a range of activities around European languages for tutor time this morning. Pupils have learned how to say 'Hello!' in all European languages, identified 'English loan words' (words that come from a different language) from European countries, learned a French idiom and explored the meaning of the longest words in languages such as Turkish, Serbian, Russian or Welsh!

Our very popular school chef, Michael, has also been busy this week to prepare daily meals from other countries to celebrate the food and recipes from other cultures. The MFL faculty is looking forward to Monday's Italian menu where both pupils and staff will eat traditional Margherita pizza, Lasagne and other Italian delicacies.
