Celebrating our GCSE results 2024

We are very proud of our boys who have today received their 2024 GCSE exam results.

Highlights this year include:

  • 60% of boys have received a Grade 5+ in Maths and 77% received a 4+ in Maths
  • 70% of boys received a Grade 5+ in English and 85% have been awarded a 4+ in English
  • 28% of all our grades are Grade 9 to Grade 7
  • The percentage of boys passing English and Maths at Grade 5+ is 53%
  • The percentage of boys passing English and Maths at Grade 4+ is 75%

There are many individual success stories that we are celebrating today, including:

  • Temilorun with seven Grade 9s, two Grade 8s and one Grade 7
  • Filip with six Grade 9s and five Grade 8s
  • Armaanvir with five Grade 9s, four Grade 8s and two Grade 7s
  • Arsham with four Grade 9s, two Grade 8s, and one Grade 7
  • Kshitij with three Grade 9s, four Grade 9s, and two Grade 7s

Upon opening his results, Temilorun commented: “I feel proud of what I have achieved today and I hope that I have made my family proud.  MBS has helped to build my confidence and to allow me to believe in myself. I plan to study Maths, Chemistry and Psychology at A Level, then hopefully go on to study medicine at university.”

Filip was equally relieved to see his results today. He commented: “It made me feel at ease to see everyone at school this morning and to know how happy my mum is for me. I plan to study Physics, Maths, Further Maths and Computer Science.”

Arsham who joined MBS midway through Year 10 from a school abroad also shared his reaction to his results: “I felt nervous and excited to receive my results. Having joined in Year 10, I need to thank all the teachers for supporting me academically, but also emotionally, to join a British school for the first time at such important time in my education. I plan to study medicine after sixth form and feel very excited for my next chapter.”

Finally, Ochir, who took on the role of Head Boy this academic year, comments: “I am proud of my results and I am looking forward to my next steps. I would like to study either medicine or business at university. MBS has been a great support with providing interventions when needed and offering a fantastic range of resources to help us learn.”

Richard Ardron, Headteacher, notes: “It was a fantastic morning with all our pupils coming in to collect their all-important results. I am exceptionally proud of this cohort, who have worked incredibly hard and persevered to get to this stage. We have some fantastic stand-out results and are very pleased for these individuals and their families. Good luck to these pupils for their future endeavours, whether it be at our MBS Sixth Form or elsewhere. Our sincere congratulations to them all!”
