On Friday 3rd May, Mr Fahy and Mr Mansell escorted 16 Year 9 pupils and two Year 10 pupils to Hampstead Heath to participate in a day of navigation training in preparation for their Duke of Edinburgh expedition which takes place in a couple of weeks. Using OS maps of the Heath, pupils learned about the use of a compass, contour lines and translating the map to what pupils could see on the ground. All the pupils benefited from this experience and are now ready to begin planning their expedition routes.
