What inspired you to go into teaching?
I decided to pursue a career in teaching as I wished to make a difference in the lives of students so that they can have the best possible chances in life. I hope that I can provide some inspiration and support the next generation of scientific pioneers and researchers, medical professionals, engineers and any other career pathway students may pursue.
What attracted you to work at MBS Sixth Form?
As a start-up school, I was excited at the thought of helping shape a faculty and school that had novel and modern approaches to education.
What’s the best thing about your job?
Engaging with the wide range of students and staff that I interact with on a daily basis.
What achievement are you most proud of?
The excellent results that the students have achieved in the Sciences with a little help from us.
Why should a student choose your subject at at A Level?
Biology explains the basis of all living things on Earth. It gives us an insight to how different species function, evolve and interact. It also holds the key to some of the upcoming challenges facing our natural world such as global warming, extinction of species and new diseases.
What book or film inspired you the most in your subject?
David Attenborough - any documentary that he had made, I have watched. He is an inspiration to all, not just scientists.
What words of wisdom would you give your 17-year-old self?
Travel more. The world is such a big place and I wish I had explored more of it when I was younger.
