On Wednesday 12 March, Marylebone Boys’ School (MBS) hosted an Iftar - the fastbreaking meal of Muslims during Ramadan - for the school’s pupil, parent and staff community. The aim of the event was to raise money for the MBS Hardship Fund, which supports families facing urgent financial need.
The event, planned and organised by the Head Prefects of the MBS Sixth Form, was a resounding success, bringing together over 120 attendees.
Students played a pivotal role in preparing and serving a selection of delicious dishes, with the support of Head Chef Mr Cheng, as well as generous donations of food from the parent community.
Ms Abdelrahman, Assistant Headteacher who oversaw the event, expressed her pride in the students, stating: "I am incredibly proud of the hard work and commitment from our sixth formers to deliver a special Iftar. It was a successful community event that felt very special. With support from the parent community, the event raised £544 for the hardship fund, which exceeded our expectations for the evening.”
The school is also grateful for the generous contributions from local businesses, including real estate company Hammerson and the facilities management team at The Point Privée in Paddington.
