Report by Ms Sargent
On Tuesday 5 February, Archie and Amr in Year 10 competed in the Jack Petchey "Speak Out" regional final, representing Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea.
Competition was tough, with 16 talented young people speaking at the event, on topics ranging from unconscious bias, to charity, to Thanos (a character from the Marvel cinematic universe).
Amr's topic of choice was 'Corruption At Home'; a passionate speech about Amr's home country: Egypt. Archie's speech, 'I am not a sheep' - equally as passionate - was about embracing one's individuality. Both boys, speaking without a script, spoke articulately, eloquently and confidently, so much so that Amr was awarded second place.
It was such a pleasure to see both Archie and Amr do an exemplary job of representing the school.
