MBS Sixth Form receives its first ever set of A Level results

MBS Sixth Form has received its first set of A Level results. We are immensely proud of all our sixth form students who, despite all the disruption in the last two years, have shown tremendous resilience and determination and have been rewarded with such brilliant results.

Highlights of the Key Stage 5 results

35% of A Level grades were awarded the highest mark of A* or A

70% of A Level grades were awarded A*- B

85% of A Level grades were awarded A*- C

Five students achieved at least 3+ A Level grades at either A* or A (10% of students)

39% of students taking A Level Maths were awarded A* or A

45% of students taking A Level Biology were awarded A* or A

40% of students taking A Level Chemistry were awarded A* or A

50% of students taking A Level Physics were awarded A* or A

58% of students taking A Level Sociology were awarded A* or A

The average grade awarded for all students was a B

Destinations

These results mean that our students will take up highly competitive university places, including at the prestigious Russell Group universities.

Among our students celebrating today are:

  • Wasif who obtained 3 A*s in Maths, Further Maths and Physics. Wasif will read Mathematics at UCL.
  • Ranu who obtained 3 As in Economics, Maths and Chemistry. Ranu will read Economics at Queen Mary University of London.
  • Li Hui who obtained 2 A*s in Maths and Chemistry and an A in Economics. He will read Economics at UCL.
  • Michael who obtained an A* in Psychology an A in Biology and a B in History. Michael will read Industrial Economics at the University of Nottingham.
  • David who obtained 2 As in Biology and Physics and a B in Psychology. David will read Neuroscience at the University of Nottingham.
  • Farah-Noer who obtained an A* in Sociology, an A in Economics and a B in Psychology. He will read Politics and International Relations at Queen Mary University of London.
  • Milad who obtained an A in Computer Science, a B in Maths and a B in Economics will go to Queen Mary University to study Computer System Engineering.

Richard Ardron, Headteacher, commented: “I am delighted to see such fantastic results from our sixth form students, especially as this is our first ever set of A Level results. Our Sixth Form students have faced many difficult circumstances over the last two years but they have persevered and done us proud. Well done to all of them and I wish them the best for their next chapter.”

In the autumn term, MBS Sixth Form will be opening in its brand new site on North Wharf Road, in close proximity to the main school site, and looks forward to creating a dedicated hub for its students in its new premises.
