Memorable experiences for MBS cricket team this summer

It has been a very busy and hugely successful summer term for the Year 7 & 8 Cricket team.

On Friday 5th July, ten students from the team took part in a historic event at Lord's Cricket Ground. They were invited to watch the Bangladesh v Pakistan game from the famous Lord's Pavilion. MBS was invited to attend by the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) after impressing their community coaches in the inaugural MCC Westminster Schools League. The boys were excited to greet the players from both teams in the pavilion long room and cheer them on from their front row seats. The day was an amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience for all involved. The MCC commended the boys on their behaviour and conduct throughout the day.

On Monday 8th July, the team competed in the grand final of the inaugural MCC Westminster Schools League against Westminster Academy. The team were in high spirits ahead of the fixture due to a series of strong performances over the course of the league and a willingness to learn and improve. Unfortunately, the pressure of the occasion got to the team and WA emerged victorious after a hard thought game. The boys should be very pleased with their efforts over the league campaign and proud of their individual development and growth as a team.

Finally, on Wednesday 10th July, Year 7 cricketers took part in a Cricket simulator experience in Paddington Central. Well done to Zinedine for making the leader board in 9th place!

It has been a truly memorable summer term for MBS cricket, a huge congratulations to the boys who have taken part and have made it so!
