PSHCE Day for Years 8-10

On Thursday 13th June, pupils in Years 8, 9 and 10 enjoyed their third PSHCE day, with the focus this time being on relationships. Sessions delivered by MBS teachers covered a range of topics including friendships, consent, how to conduct professional relationships in the work place, analysing relationships that are portrayed in the media and film industries and so much more. 
 
Year 9 spent the morning in workshops delivered by an incredible organisation called the Great Lad Initiative. The workshops focused on their Great Men programme, giving the boys a space to explore their feelings, misconceptions and questions in a safe and respectful environment. The volunteers’ feedback was complimentary of the boys and we look forward to welcoming them back in the future.

Year 10 had a session from two medical professionals from Kingston Hospital who spoke to them about the importance of consent and safe sex. This was received with high levels of maturity, respect and enthusiasm.
