Today, pupils in Years 7-10 took part in an extensive PSHCE programme, with the theme of the day focusing on tolerance, inclusivity and British values. Boys in Years 7 - 9 participated in lessons on multiculturalism, gender, British values, the LGBT community and the media. Year 10 had sessions during Period 1 and 2 on study skills as well as on gender, the LGBT community and British values.
The sessions and topics were selected to help enrich and enhance pupil’s experiences as teenagers growing up in a multicultural and diverse city. We were impressed by the boys' professional and mature approach during group discussions, but also by the reflective questions that they asked to the external facilitators. We thank Ms Greenlees for organising such a comprehensive programme and for the facilitators who came in from Educate & Celebrate to deliver these themed sessions.
