Our pupils have already made a great start to the new academic year.
Maths project
A big well done from Ms O’Neill to Ali M in Year 8 for his detailed, well thought-out and mathematically accurate homework in response to the following brief: “You and your family are going on holiday next year for 10 days. You have a choice of three destinations: Moscow, Dubai and one destination you would like to go to. For each member of your family you will have £1500 budget to spend to cover all expenses.” Ms O’Neill was very impressed by the quality of his work, which you can see here.
Latin project
A huge congratulations from Mr Pourre to Sohaib A in 8F for his model of Mount Vesuvius, completed over lockdown in the Summer Term of Year 7. The MFL faculty has been so impressed to see such dedication, detail and resourcefulness! He has set the bar really high for upcoming projects in the Classics department.
Shouts-outs from the English Faculty
From Ms Akhtar:
Abdallah and Lorenzo in my Year 7En5 - super helpful, committed to learn and share their learning. They will also always go above and beyond to help out! I have introduced a buddy system where I pair the students up to help with the learning - these two are always the first ones to fulfil this role and model the classroom expectations!
From Ms Elmes:
My Year 11 class (11En4) have made an excellent start to unseen poetry. They have come back with a fantastic attitude to learning and are already making so much progress!
From Ms Mitchell:
Eshaq A in Year 8 comes to lesson every time prepared to be productive and his book is wonderful!! He takes so much pride in his work and completes every task that is asked of him.
