The art exam groups have made a fantastic start this term with their sight-size observational drawings. The sight-size method is a technique in which the artist measures and observes the object from a distance and to scale of life while drawing in natural light. Masters such as John Singer Sargent and Sir Thomas Lawrence used this technique whilst it’s origins lie in the practise of Van Dyke, Velasquez and Titian. Great work Umar and Johann!
