The adventure begins - Duke of Edinburgh

Commentary by Mr Oliver, Duke of Edinburgh Coordinator
Last week, a group of 47 Year 9 students embarked on their Bronze practice Duke of Edinburgh Award expedition. We started our adventure at Chingford station and began our journey through Epping Forest. The students navigated their way through the terrain, making their way to the Epping Forest Field Center.
Despite the muddy conditions, the weather could not have been more perfect for our expedition. The students embraced the challenge of manoeuvring through the muddy trails with enthusiasm and determination. The students had the opportunity to learn about the diverse ecosystem of Epping Forest and appreciate its importance to the environment.
Throughout the expedition, the students showcased their resilience and teamwork. They supported and encouraged one another, creating a positive and uplifting atmosphere. The journey concluded at Loughton station. The expedition provided us with unforgettable memories, new friendships, and a deeper appreciation for nature. We are looking forward to our upcoming adventures with our Duke of Edinburgh participants!
