This term, the Year 7 pupils participated in an exciting workshop on the 'Science of Rollercoasters'. They investigated how gravity, friction and weight can affect the speed and distance of rollercoasters. The boys visited LEGOLAND, where they worked in groups to design and build their own LEGO model rollercoaster, testing them out in the workshop and evaluating their performance to see how they could improve it.
The Year 8 students also took part in a workshop on Robotics at LEGOLAND. It brought Computing and STEM learning to life outside of the classroom through a fun, hands-on workshop. Students built, coded and debugged LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robots. They innovated solutions as they developed their problem-solving skills. Through this experience, they learnt more about algorithms, Boolean sequences, inputs and outputs. Fantastic work boys!
