On Friday 28 February, students from Year 10 spent the day at Jesus College, part of the University of Cambridge, alongside seven other Westminster schools.
They were given an introductory talk on life at university and then given a tour of the college by existing undergraduate students who were able to talk about their life at university, the subjects they study and other general questions that the students had. The groups then participated in a lecture on linguistics, which focused on the way we interpret, hear and form words and the factors that influence how we use language.
The day finished with a session focusing on how to apply to university, good combinations of subjects to choose at A Level and the career pathways that students can follow.
