This week is Westminster Enterprise Week and to mark this, on Tuesday19th November we hosted a two-hour workshop in school for Year 9 and 12 pupils facilitated by visitors from Sir Robert McAlpine, the leading UK construction and civil engineering company.
The workshop was based on a live project being built in Westminster for a 5+ star hotel with a roof top restaurant. Pupils were briefed to consider the theme and style of the rooftop restaurant, while taking into account Health & Safety, sustainability as well as cost. The boys then worked in groups, with each pupil taking on a different role. Mr Cook who supported our boys, as well as the visitors from Sir Robert McAlpine were impressed by the level of focus shown and the high-quality ideas that the teams generated.
To bring the workshop to an end, each group presented their projects, with a vote for the winning idea. The winning team was made up of Sammuel, Lum, Fanuel, Wassim, Milo and RJ. We hope to be able to visit the completed hotel with the boys once the project is complete.
