MBS organised a number of activities this week for its pupils as part of World Mental Heath Day, which is observed on Thursday 10th October.
Rebecca from the Child Wellbeing Project along with Ms Alnajafi and Ms Greenlees delivered assemblies on mental health awareness to all students at MBS. The assemblies defined what the concept of awareness entails, and the benefits of being aware of our thoughts and feelings. The assemblies were well-received as students also took part in tutor time activities such as art therapy and mindfulness.
In the same vein, 15 students from Years 7 to 10 participated in an art therapy and mindfulness workshop with youth worker and blogger Penny Belle. Students created their own positivity affirmation cards and designed motivating quote cards for their loved ones and teachers. Penny was extremely impressed with the boys' engagement, enthusiasm and empathy towards each other.
