Year 10 have spent the last three days on their Geography field trip at Flatford Mill learning centre, seeking refuge each night from the stormy weather in the famous 'Willy Lott Cottage' from John Constable's 'The Hay Wain' oil canvas. Day 1 found the students practising investigative methods in and around the Field Centre, including creating a field sketch of the local area.
Day 2 provided a trip to the coast, Walton on the Naze, where the Year 10s assessed the impact of coastal management schemes on both coastal processes and the local community. Rounding off the trip, the students turned inland to contrasting rural settings, investigating the impacts of deprivation on the local community.
