Selected Year 12 students attended a trip to Magdalen College at the University of Oxford on Friday 19 November. Facebook here.
Deni, John D, Tibby and Natalia attended a talk on the courses and the colleges of the University, followed by a student Q&A. They were then shown around the beautiful grounds of Magdalen College, one of the oldest colleges of the university. After lunch in the Dining Hall, they participated in an Admissions Workshop, which gave great tips about entry requirements and what universities, especially Oxbridge, are looking for in student applications. The workshop explored how and what to write in their personal statement. This was wrapped up by a tour of Brasenose College, whose notable alumni include former PM David Cameron and writer Jeffrey Archer. In all, the students found the experience enlightening and it helped to demystify the process of applying to Oxford. Photos from the visit can be viewed on
