To immerse students in the history of a Roman forum, Mr Cannatella transported them back in time to a Roman macellum (food market).
Over 200 homemade Roman coins were handed out for the students to complete a shopping list for a lavish dinner with their 'mythocosmic' cousin, Lavinia. We had students represent traders from all over the ancient world, including Gaul (France), Carthage (North Africa), and Syria that sold herbs, spices, and other food products.
Against the backdrop of a Roman market ambience, they negotiated and haggled for the best prices. Well done to the winning buyers and sellers!
